Abstract :
The melilite-type Ca2-xSrxZnSi2O7 ceramics were synthesized by solid state ceramic route. The lattice parameters and cell volume increased with increasing the composition x. The substitution of Sr for Ca has improved the microwave dielectric properties. Excellent dielectric properties (??r = 8.4, Qu??f = 105000 GHz (at 12.628 GHz) and ??f = -51.5 ppm/??C) were obtained for the composition x = 2 when sintered at 1475??C/2 h. Addition of 2 wt% of SrTiO3 to Sr2ZnSi2O7 decreased the ??f value to -13 ppm/??C with ??r= 8.8, Qu??f = 60000 GHz (at 12.585 GHz).
