Abstract :
Probabilistic Safety Assessment is a standardized method for assessing and improving nuclear power plant safety through the risk analysis. The risk deals with probabilities of events and their consequences. The development of risk criteria is a prerequisite for risk informed decision making. Development of risk informed decision making brings forward the risk analyses into the acceptance of decisions considering the risk analyses results. The results of probabilistic safety assessment show what to improve to decrease the risk and consequently contribute to enhanced safety.
