Abstract :
System level ESD validation and design bases mainly on IEC61000-4-2 standard. The discharge waveform and the test setup have been set to produce repetitive validation results. Real world discharges, however, can vary significantly from this waveform. IEC test bench and real world parameters and discharge environments are compared in this paper.
