Abstract :
Software reuse is considered as a prominent strategy for software development productivity improvement. However, there are many cases of software reuse adoption failure. One of the main factors for software reuse failure is the “no attempt to reuse” issue, which is highly influenced by the effort needed to find reusable artifacts. In this sense, this paper presents the definition, the implementation and a case study of a proactive search system called BART (Basic Asset Retrieval Tool) created to improve the reusable artifacts search activity without increasing the user effort.
