  • Abstract
Dose calculation is critical important for the radiotherapy of cancer treatment. In this paper, an efficient Monte-Carlo radiation dose calculation system is presented. The dose calculation kernel of our system is based on the DPM algorithm [12]. The original codes are replanted into windows environment and rewritten using C++. Optimization techniques are applied to achieve a higher performance. Experimental results show that the optimized codes can achieve about 12% speedup in performance while retaining the same accuracy compared to the original codes. A user-friendly User Interface (UI) is also imported into the system. Through the UI, doctors can flexibly customize the simulation parameters and obtain the simulation results visually.
