Abstract :
We have designed a new type of high power pump laser module which features a two-dimensional semiconductor laser array, a compact monolithic lenslet module, and a laser-welded multi-mode fiber in a standard 14 pin butterfly package. The semiconductor laser array is made of high reliable single transverse mode lasers with proper redundancy design to achieve a high optical output power, high electrical-to-optical conversion efficiency, superior reliability for cladding pumped optical amplifiers and other high power applications
