Abstract
The spatial SAR (specific absorption rate) distribution inside a human head under the exposure of EM energy emitted by a portable phone is computed using the FDTD numerical method. The temperature rise due to the absorption of this energy is then calculated using the bioheat equation. The influence of the user´s hand is also incorporated. Computations are performed at both 900 MHz and 1.8 GHz.
