Abstract :
A novel configuration of Sierpinski carpet fractal based thinning of rectangular microstrip planar array is presented. Effect of sequential change in feed amplitudes on peak SLL is studied and a peak SLL of -18dB is achieved. Mutual coupling between the elements is found to remain below -20dB. The antenna array can be effectively utilized for onboard satellite applications.
