Abstract
Summary form only given. The purpose of mica served magnet wire is to provide greater protection for turn-to-turn voltage. The mica served magnet wire product is a combination of insulations that offers excellent heat transfer, dielectrics, mechanical strength, and windability. The mica served magnet wire product is constructed with phlogopite mica paper bonded to .0018 fiberglass cloth and then slit to the appropriate size depending on conductor size. Mica served magnet wire was designed primarily for stator coils of high turn stress and has proven to be more cost-effective and has shown better dielectric strength than turn taping. Formed stator coils with multiple conductors and turns can utilize mica served magnet wire as well
