Abstract
A hybrid scheme for the modeling of antenna-wireless channel interaction is proposed. A full-wave simulation of the antenna is used to extract an antenna macromodel that is subsequently coupled to the channel simulator through the reciprocity theorem. Hence, the need for an expensive co-simulation of the potentially complex antenna geometry and the much larger-scale channel is by-passed. This technique lends itself to the analysis of emerging small multi-antenna geometries, which are candidate topologies for deploying MIMO systems in handheld devices.
