Abstract :
A description model is presented, and it is shown how it permits better definition of the organization of the algorithms of a control unit for a production machine. This unit is capable of driving coordinated axis movements with a certain degree of autonomy and to a near-optimal standard. On the basis of this model, a partly decentralized control unit (ARIEL) is designed and realized. It includes a power converter unit and sensor system. The final goal is to associate these control units and their actuators, which are thus transformed into a simple computer peripheral unit
