  • Abstract
We implemented an ASIC for readout and control of a contactless inductive position sensor. This type of sensor is used to measure linear and angular positions in industrial applications. An integrated front-end design is described that reduces phase sensitive offsets. The ASIC was designed in a 5 V 0.35-mum CMOS technology and preliminary measured results are presented. The integration of the sensor signal conditioning circuits in an ASIC offers considerable advantages in terms of size and performance compared to existing discrete solutions.
