Abstract :
It adopted the method of case study on Lenovo Group to explore the inherent mechanism of value creation in the process of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) implementation. The study showed that, through building platform, time compression, sharing information and so on, Lenovo had provided multi-dimensional value-added for its direct shareholders, as well as the Group itself, which had effectively produced sustainable competitive advantage for it supply chain. Hence, this study provides China manufacturing industry with important direction in VMI implementation to gain supply chain competitive advantage.
