Abstract :
Analysis of the effect of phase-induced interferometric noise in dense WDM routed networks arising from the imperfect filtering of signals is presented. Noise suppression due to the non-alignment of laser sources is considered along with the channel (wavelength) separation and overall bit-rate. For given operating conditions, the closest channel separation for satisfactory performance can be determined
