Abstract
64 QAM modulation with digital compression is enabling technology for the MMDS industry. Use of these technologies create program capacity, cost advantage, total access to programming and the ability to deliver and control local programming. Thereby MMDS can compete head-on with wired cable, with a better picture, lower costs and an equal or greater number of channels and with DBS which is hampered by high installation costs and lack of local programming.
