Abstract
Microwave transmitters are essential elements in future LMDS systems. Conversion gain of an LMDS transmitter is an important parameter which establishes basic functionality and system performance. This paper presents a real-time conversion gain measurement technique utilizing swept scalar analysis and compares the results with a traditional discrete point method. The new scalar technique overcomes measurement obstacles such as an inaccessible local oscillator and a non-insertable DUT.
