Review provincial logistics of China in 2009

This paper reviews provincial logistics of china in 2009. We establish an evaluation system by factor analysis and appraise regional logistic development. We use eleven key indicators which have relationship with regional logistics. They are length of railways in operation, length of highways, business volume of telecommunication service, freight ton-kilometers, regional GDP, and so on. They come from CHINA STATISTICAL YEARBOOK 2009. We evaluate regional logistics development of 31 provinces in mainland by our evaluation system, and then type them by analytic hierarchy process. Based on principal components, three factors were chosen. They can be roughly interpreted as economic development of region, logistical infrastructure factor and position of region. The result could help government to enhance regional logistic capability by efficient methods.
