  • Abstract
The design of a control engineering framework should rely on software engineering framework architecture models. The ECMA model divides integration framework services into four management subsystems in order to efficiently support development processes; user interface, tool, object, and activity managers. The design of an activity manager is discussed. It is generic, and once configured by a process model, it controls the progress of a project so that it follows the rules defined in this model. The way to integrate this activity manager into a framework is described. The expected benefits for project management of such architectural solutions are reported
