Abstract
Because of the lack of design methods and graphic software in the field of production automatized systems (PASs), a design support system which guides in the analysis and PAS design has been developed. This tool, called MACSOOD, is based on a decisional object-oriented method because, at the technical level, the assumptions of an object oriented design and of an object programming are the best known answers to the problem of re-use and flexibility. The design process is discussed, from the construction of hierarchical trees of objects to the verification of coherence
