Abstract
A method is described for dynamically measuring the propulsion forces/torques using beams instrumented with strain gages. The method outlined has the advantage of being able to accommodate the individual´s push-rings and racing wheelchair. Both the mechanical and electronic design are described. A mercury slip ring was used in the design because of its simplicity and extended frequency range, and because it does not suffer the interference problems of telemetry when used in a closed environment. It is somewhat restrictive because wires are attached to the chair
