Abstract :
Quantitation in emission tomography (PET and SPECT) assumes that several physical factors are corrected. Attenuation can be corrected using transmission tomography which can be performed on SPECT and PET devices. Quantitative comparison of the relative performances of transmission scans in SPECT and PET has been investigated using a calibrated liquid solution with a linear attenuation coefficient (μ) nearly equivalent to that of skeleton cranium bone for radiation with an energy ranging from 50 to 600 keV
