Abstract :
In this paper, an embedded real-time remote monitoring system is presented, which can effectively achieve remote sensing, monitoring and on-line fault diagnosis for equipment. The development process is integrated based on the standard Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Bruce Douglass´s real-time design patterns. Thus, the architecture and IPC behaviors of the system can be analyzed by using the pattern theory. Furthermore, by exploiting the real-time uClinux environment, the operating system researched and developed by the authors, there is no need to worry about the volume and real-time capabilities of remote monitoring systems. It is also easy to add new functions and upgrade basic edition to more professional edition. An emulation platform is also built to evaluate the functions and performances of the remote monitoring system.
