  • Abstract
Emergency lifesaving systems that collect patients´ information through the Triage network has been researched and developed actively. The Triage network is a specific ad hoc network which consists of mobile nodes and static nodes. In disaster sites, it is difficult for medical staffs to get patients´ information because the Triage network´s topology frequently changes. Medical staffs and slightly-injured patients move and patients are sequentially transported to medical agencies. Therefore, medical staffs cannot accurately collect patients´ data because of network disruptions and route failures. Hence, it is necessary to search routes in consideration of patients´ mobility and removing from the Triage network. In this case, it is effective to select a CDS taken into account in mobility and removing and to perform routing on a CDS. In this paper, we propose a distributed CDS selection algorithm called MR-CDS (Mobility and Removing aware CDS). MR-CDS can select suitable nodes as elements of CDS in the Triage network. Thus, it can improve the packet arrival rate and the energy consumption of each node to update routes on a MR-CDS. We evaluate it through computer simulations.
