Abstract
In this paper, active control of symmetric α stable (SαS) distribution impulsive noise is studied. An algorithm based on minimizing the squared sigmoid transformation of error signal is proposed. The convergence condition of this algorithm is also analyzed. Computer simulations were carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The plant model used in the computer simulations is obtained from a practical active noise control (ANC) system in our laboratory. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can significantly reduce SαS impulsive noise and the convergence rate is acceptable.
