Abstract :
A method is proposed to eliminate AC harmonic currents by injecting equal-but-opposite harmonic compensating currents. This method is applicable to any type of load considered as a harmonic source. A system involving a hardware interface, a PC, and advanced software to measure, analyze, and report the condition of harmonics on the power system is described. This system is used to generate all the necessary harmonic currents for compensation. Digital simulation and experimental results from single- and three-phase AC/DC converters are shown to verify the effectiveness of this technique.<>
