Abstract
A digital speed control scheme for a separately excited DC motor fed by a three-phase dual convertor is described. Current and speed control algorithms are of the proportional integral with output limiting type. Practical problems such as synchronization with noisy mains supply and generation of PWM signals are discussed. The firmware of the controller, built around two 16-b microprocessors, is discussed. The controller is tested with 6.5 kW DC motor. The test results are given
