Abstract
Standardized and compatible 5.8 GHz communication equipment is now under development by several electronic suppliers and will be available on the market soon. In addition to electronic toll collection special access control systems, using the same technology, will appear. In summary, two main constraints had to be solved. First, to be compliant to the more pretentious technical specifications according to CEN TC 278 compared with the former 5.8 GHz systems. Second, to reduce the production costs essentially. Our result is an integrated antenna/transceiver unit installed in a conventional traffic light housing
