Abstract :
An antenna composed of two bent conducting strips (leaves) above a conducting ground plane, designated as the BeToL, is investigated for radiation of a unidirectional beam in either the positive x-space direction or the negative x-space direction. Based on this investigation, an antenna composed of four bent conducting strips above a conducting ground plane, designated as the BeFoL, is designed such that the radiation beam is directed toward the positive x-space, negative x-space, positive y-space, or negative y-space. Analysis reveals that the BeFoL has a wideband characteristic with respect to the VSWR (approximately 72%).
