Abstract :
Sliding mode control is widely used in induction motor servo drives. Rule-based controllers which utilize fuzzy set theory have the advantage of not requiring a mathematical description of the plant. A new sliding mode controller using a fuzzy logic algorithm is applied to a vector-controlled induction motor servo system to eliminate the chattering problem. A servo system with the proposed control strategy is analyzed and verified experimentally. The performance of the drive is shown to be practically free from chattering
