Abstract :
Frequent fatal accidents occur on Chinese freeways, and the damage increases in recent years. A challenge to freeway administration is how to accurately forecast the damage caused by accidents in coming period. Factors that will cause fatal accidents are complex, and some of them can not be made clear. In this paper, we use the Markov Chain model, by which the future situation is predicted basing on the characteristic of previous situations, to forecast the damage of a certain freeway in future several months.
