Abstract :
A new monolithic boost regulator, aimed at telecom linecard applications, is described. The IC provides a +5 V, 3 A output from the standard -36 V to -60 V input bus. Level-shifting in the feedback path is integrated into the IC, minimizing the number of external components. Current-mode control is used to provide a fast response and wide dynamic range regulator. A new blanking circuit allows the IC to ignore switch current turn-on spikes, while extending the control range of the regulator
