  • Abstract
    Face detection is a key technology of face recognition, in this paper, a fast face detection method based on JPEG image is proposed. According to analyzing the feature of face image, the combination of reconstruction of low resolution image in the compressed domain and face detection in the pixel domain method is proposed. For JPEG image, we propose the reconstruction method of low resolution image by using few DCT coefficients. We compare our method with conventional face detection in the pixel domain. The testing results show our method has high face detection precision while greatly improve the detection speed.
