Abstract :
In digital transmission, the incoming data sequence is modulated onto a carrier with fixed frequency limits that are imposed by a bandpass channel. This modulation process involves switching the amplitude, frequency or phase of the Fourier basis, the sinusoidal carrier in accordance with the incoming data stream. Presented is a new technique which uses wavelet function as the signaling waveform where incoming data stream is keyed onto the scale of the wavelet function. The performance of this technique is compared with some conventional modulation schemes in terms of bit error rate (BER) and power efficiency (PE).
