            Abstract :
This paper details a technique for achieving dual-band operation from a ring type slot frequency selective surface (FSS). Series resonant tuned circuits are employed in the structure to operate as frequency selective switches, offering a high or low impedance state depending upon the operating frequency of the FSS. A harmonically or near harmonically related dual-band design targeted at the WLAN bands of 2.45 and 5GHz is discussed and its performance evaluated both by computer simulation and practical measurements.
