Abstract :
The present communication aims at evaluating changes in the optical and electrical properties of poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) films aged under controlled UV irradiation. Photoluminescence, conduction measurements and electroluminescence have been used as complementary tools. The luminescence yield significantly decreased in aged materials and the shape of the emission spectrum evolved. Some new information is brought regarding field-induced aging of the material. Besides, imaging of the material luminescence may be used for localizing aged areas of the films
