Abstract
In construction and house renovation industry, the demands for measuring the size of a door or a window, etc. are huge. In this research, we try to use the stereopsis technique to develop a simple 3-D image measurement system. First, we use a digital camera equipped with two lenses to take the stereo images. Moreover, the images can be transmitted to a computer by Wi-Fi in real time. Next, we calculate the 3-D coordinates of the measuring points using the triangulation technique. So it becomes possible to obtain various sizes. In order to detect feature points, such as a corner of the window, the techniques based on Hough transformation and the point matching method are proposed in this research.
