Abstract :
In this paper, a control methodology that utilizes the robust integral of the sign of the error (RISE) is employed for disturbance rejection in a directed energy platform experiencing jitter to promote beam regulation on a target. The RISE technique offers the advantage of requiring less restriction/knowledge on/of the disturbance signal (e.g., structure and/or frequency) while providing asymptotic beam tracking. Simulation and experimental results on a small directed energy platform are provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method.
