Abstract
A new kind of discrete probabilistic susceptible-infected model named DP-SI, which can be applied in arbitrary topologies of complex networks, is proposed to investigate the malware propagation and a node information network model is established for investigating complex networks. Based on the proposed models, two major existing immunization strategies over Internet, i.e., random immunization and targeted immunization are studied through extensive simulations and analysis. The simulation results show that the random strategy has little effect on the speed of malware propagation, however, the targeted immunization based on the largest degree can sharply depress the epidemic spreading even in the initial stage of propagation.
