  • Abstract
The authors have been working since 1984 on the problem of statistical analysis of prediction of reliability of US Navy aircraft wiring based on end-of-life of wire insulation. Many papers have been published on the vast number of different insulation materials that are currently in use on electrical cable. The papers discuss the merits and demerits (if any) of the insulation material and report the estimated life of the material under standard conditions. The estimated life is calculated statistically from the test data obtained by accelerated aging of specimens taken from new cable that has this insulation
