Abstract :
This paper presented the fundamental characteristics of the dielectric covered mono-conical antenna, followed by its principal radiation property obtained both analytically and experimentally. The multi angled configuration for constructing a slim or low profile antenna and the resistive loaded configuration for compactness were also investigated. In conclusion, our study suggested that this kind of antenna holds sufficient potential as a small-sized antenna for ultra-wideband communications.
