Abstract :
The use of electropulse technology in the destruction and boring of solid materials is examined by the authors. The high efficiency of the electropulse destruction is determined by the fact that the electric energy is directly introduced into the solid without any agent and a direct transformation of electrical into mechanical energy takes place. The investigations show that about 50-75% of discharge circuit energy of the pulse voltage generator may be extracted in the discharge channel. The efficiency of most conventional boring methods does not achieve 10%, which is connected with energy losses in the transformer units.
