Abstract
A new approach is presented that can help in designing a pulse width modulator circuit to implement the precalculated angles technique for application in voltage source inverters (VSIs). With this approach, a circuit is constructed using semicustom erasable/programmable logic devices (EPLDs) and the selected harmonic elimination pulse width modulation (SHE-PWM) technique is implemented. A VSI is fabricated, and its performance is studied on a 5 hp squirrel cage induction motor
