Abstract
In this paper, we present a novel technique to increase the isolation between two very closely spaced planar inverted F antennas (PIFA) on a common ground-plane. The proposed decoupling structure consists of thin wire (TW) array and two Z elements. For the proposed antenna at low band, the improved isolation between the antennas is from 3.1 dB (for the initial PIFA) to 10.8 dB. Further, the proposed technique has been proven to be efficient in the presence of the user.
