Abstract
This paper discusses the real time implementation of adaptive channel equalization algorithms, namely the LMS DFE and RLS DFE, on a DSP processor. Equalization theory is well understood, but practical implementations are an area of active research and development. The equalizers were designed using DSP block library in simulink and implemented on the target DSP via embedded target for TI DSP toolbox. The input data and the dispersive channel environment were created in MATLAB and the distorted input and equalized output were exchanged in real time between the PC and the target DSP using MATLAB link for CCS (RTDX).
