Abstract :
Schur or Hurwitz stability of a characteristic polynomial whose coefficients are nonlinear functions of a set of free parameters is investigated. The nonlinear functions are restricted to polynomials in these parameters. The parameters lie in a given region of uncertainty. Methods for testing the robust stability are discussed, and a new method for solving a system of multivariate real polynomial equations is given
