Abstract :
One of the new trends in business process management (BPM) is data-centric. Business artifact is a data entity which records the business process. Because in the different time there are different business requests to an artifact, time constraints should be considered in the artifact-centric business process model. To analyze the validity of a business artifact is to verify whether it satisfies the corresponding business request at given time. This paper gives the definitions related to artifact which are extended with time constraints. Based on Petri net, an artifact validity model with time constraints is presented. An algorithm is given to check the validity and its complexity is analyzed. Research results show our method supports the time modeling to business artifact and provides a new way to verify the validity of business artifact.
