Abstract :
This paper presents a new rectenna-element based on aperture coupled microstrip dipole and wide-band band-pass pre-filter inserted between the antenna and the rectifying diode(s). The pre filter is designed to be transparent for all input frequencies in the band of interest and highly attenuating for both DC and higher harmonics. Being repeatedly reflected at the filter output and the output DC shunting capacitor the higher harmonics generated from the nonlinearity of the diode(s) convert most of their power into a DC one. Additionally, the performance of the rectenna-structure is optimized for the concert case of an excitation signal that consists of two or more spectrally closely spaced sinusoids.
