Abstract :
From a physical interpretation of moment method, this paper obtains a general field-based equivalent circuit model for most commonly encountered microstrip discontinuities. The specific examples given in this paper are: open-end, step, bend, and T-junction. The comparison with IE3D shows that the average errors of S-parameter are less than 3% below 7GHz.
