Abstract :
Code division multiple access (CDMA) technology has been shown to offer significant improvement in the multiple access capacity of a digital cellular system. However, this capacity improvement is assured only when adequate power control is performed. In the conventional IS-95 CDMA system, the base station controls the transmit power based on the forward link quality. But, the base station transmit power is limited by a certain dynamic range (e.g. P0±6 dB). We analyze the outage probability under imperfect forward-link power control in the CDMA systems
