Abstract
The Automated Instructional Media Selection (AIMS) model was used in the JWK Computerized Instructional System for Tasks, Objectives, Media, and Syllabi-Clipperized (CISTOMS-C) analysis tool. The purpose was to allocate selected media to specific training objectives for the Air Force Primary Aircrew Training System (AFPATS) Ground Based Training System (GBTS). This paper outlines the features of the AIMS model and then discusses why the AIMS model was chosen over other media selection models. Additionally the paper discusses modifications made to the AIMS model for use in AFPATS GBTS concept, provides an operational description of how the model was used, and concludes with recommendations for further modifications for use in other media selection requirements
